Due to the national and global economy many of us are finding it hard to pay our bills. If you’re one of the growing number of us then you may want to consolidate debt as a way to reduce your monthly bills.
There are many ways to do this, such as, a credit counseling service, a home equity line of credit or with a bank loan. It may sound strange that a loan will lower your bills but it does exactly this in a number of ways.
This can be done by yourself but it’s easy to stray of the path if you’re not careful. Spend a little here and there and before you know it your in more trouble. Thankfully there are services which can do it all for you and sometime depending on your circumstances work out better deals and reduce your debt through negotiations.
Each circumstance will be different so if for example you have defaulted on a loan or simply missed payments then this will be different than if you were able to scrape the payments together. Remember these institutions just see figures on their screens, not what we’re going through to make the payments.
Of course if you have equity in your home then you may be able to get a home equity loan and consolidate debt that way. I named the site Consolidate Debt Cures as debt is something we have that we want to get rid of or find the cure!
You may have heard people saying that it will (destroy your credit rating) and that’s not true. Your credit rating is in flux and changes over time, with the good and bad. Yes it may have a negative impact but remember why you’re doing this.
If you can consolidate debt to a manageable payment then over time you will be able to pay off your loan by making your payments on time and this will strengthen your credit score.
If you are confident in finding the best deal and negotiating with your creditors then with some planning you can do this yourself. If not then you should try contacting a credit counseling service for advice. They will often do it all for you including paying the various bills each month or completely if switching loans depending on the best method available to you.
You know yourself better than I do, do you have the ability to negotiate with creditors? Will you be sure to make the payments on time? Do you know how to find the best deal to make this work?
If you answer yes to those questions, then you already know what to do!
If like most of us the answer is no, and there’s no reason to be ashamed about that, then we need help. Listen to the experts, agree on the way to go and regain some freedom.
